CLOSED!

The 2025 National Native Seed Conference is now accepting proposals for individual presentations, posters, workshops, and symposia. The theme of NNSC25 is Seeds for Change: Seeding the Future Together.

Main topics  for sessions include:

  • Climate Change
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Indigenous Knowledge
  • Native Seed Production & Industry
  • Partnerships & Networks
  • Policy
  • Seed Banking & Storage
  • Seed-based Restoration
  • Seed Collection
  • Seed Quality & Certification
  • Supply Chain Issues

Individual Presentations & Posters: For individual presentations and posters that focus on one of the main conference topics. Presentation time slots will be 20 minutes long with 15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions. The poster reception is tentatively scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

Symposia: Symposia are organized around a specific topic and include multiple speakers, all of whom are invited by the organizer at the proposal stage. They are distinguished from other organized sessions in that they are more explicitly integrated, provide an overall synthesis on their topic, and have a broad enough appeal to a large portion of the conference attendees. This option includes panels as well as organized talks around a central subject. Please submit an abstract that describes the specific topic or theme of the symposium along with speaker names, confirmed or unconfirmed. If the symposium is selected for the conference, we will reach out with a speaker form tailored to your symposium to collect abstracts from the invited speakers.

Workshops: Workshops should focus on practical applications that address one or more main conference topic listed above. Please think through design, space requirements you would need, and/or if there is a maximum number of participants you would like to have at one time. These considerations, along with the content, will be important for us as we’re planning out the venue space and technology needs. Workshops tentatively scheduled for Monday, February 24, 2025.

Next Steps

  • Abstracts will be reviewed by the Program Committee in September 2024.
  • Decisions on abstracts will be finalized in October 2024.
  • If you have questions, please email [email protected].

Please note that all presenters must be registered participants of the conference and will be responsible to cover their own registration, accommodations, and related expenses, unless otherwise discussed with the Institute for Applied Ecology. Submitting an abstract does not register a speaker for the conference. Please register for the conference separately.
