Volunteer to remove weeds and plant camas seed

Help restore prairie habitat and contribute to the maintenance of a future first foods gathering site. While weeding you can learn about prairie ecology and the cultural significance of the area from Institute for Applied Ecology and Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde staff.

WHEN: Saturday, May 7, 2022, 9 am – 1pm

WHERE: Champoeg State Heritage Area – full directions and instructions will be sent to participants a few days before the event. If you would like to carpool, you can meet at IAE at 7:00 am. 

SPECIAL SKILLS: None are required. Work includes bending, minimal lifting, kneeling.

BRING: Water, lunch, and gardening gloves if you have them.
