The West Eugene Wetlands (WEW) currently hosts populations of three federally endangered species (Willamette daisy, Bradshaw’s lomatium and Fender’s blue butterfly), one federally threatened species (Kincaid’s lupine) and numerous Bureau sensitive species (shaggy horkelia, white-topped aster and thin-leaved peavine). In 2017, the Institute for Applied Ecology continued their efforts to augment populations of these species by collecting seed, increasing seed and plug production, and planting plugs and sowing seeds.
