OSU students remove a pretty invader from Mary’s Peak

On October 28th we had a fantastic volunteer event at Marys Peak with over 50 volunteers and perfect weather! First and foremost thanks to all the volunteers, you all rocked! The focus of the event was to help preserve the meadow at Marys Peak. The meadow is increasingly prone to non-native species establishment and conifer encroachment. Volunteers removed oxeye daisy from the trail and meadow, and pulled conifer saplings throughout the meadow. With all the volunteers we pulled thousands of saplings and copious amounts of oxeye daisy. Great work team! We look forward to having another event at Marys Peak in the spring, so stay tuned.

If you'd like to help, check out our calendar on our home page; there are plenty more volunteer opportunities this fall!
