Volunteer to plant native prairie plants! March 16, 17 and 18, 9-3 pm

  • WHAT: We need volunteers to help us plant Kincaid’s lupine (Lupinus oreganus) at prairie sites near Philomath and Wren, Oregon.
  • DATES: March 16-18
  • TIME: 9am – 3pm
  • WHERE: Prairies near Philomath and Wren – Full directions and instructions will be sent to participants a few days before the event.

  • VOLUNTEER RELEASE: Please fill out the volunteer release form and bring a copy to the event.
  • WEAR: The weather could be cold and wet and the ground may be muddy, so bring warm layers, waterproof raincoat, rain pants and boots. Bring a sun hat just in case. Gardening gloves are useful – we will have extras available.
  • BRING: snacks and lunch, water bottle.
  • SPECIAL SKILLS: Walking on uneven gently sloping ground for up to 15 minutes to the planting site. Lifting and carrying 25lb plant trays is a possibility. Kneeling and bending over for extended periods should be expected while planting. Planting instructions will be provided – we will be using dibbles to create holes for planting the plugs.
  • AMENITIES: There are no restroom facilities.
  • COVID-19 VACCINATION STATUS: Due to the current surge in Covid-19 in our community, and for the health and safety of attendees and staff, we are requiring all attendees to be fully vaccinated. Please bring your vaccination card or an image of your card to the event.
