Volunteer Planting Day at Henry Hagg Lake

Please join the Institute for Applied Ecology (IAE) to help restore native habitat for the threatened Fender’s blue butterfly at Henry Hagg Lake this fall! This is a great opportunity to see a beautiful natural area in Washington County, meet new friends, and help restore habitat for important native species.


  • When: Saturday, November 23, 2024 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
  • Where: Henry Hagg Lake, Washington County, Oregon (coordinates provided upon RSVP).
  • Work to be completed: Planting native plants at Henry Hagg Lake in Washington County. All tools provided.
  • What to bring: Bring lunch, water and warm clothes. Gloves are also advised. Tools will be provided. We will provide some refreshments throughout the day. No experience is necessary. We will hold this event regardless of the weather, so please bring rain gear and boots you are fine with getting muddy. All volunteers (or parent/guardian if the volunteer is a youth) must fill out IAE’s volunteer release form.
