Looking for some fun ideas for how to participate in the Invasive Species Cook-off at Common Fields next month? Look no further! This class combines mixology and ecology with a bit of herbalism. Attendees will be introduced to a variety of foraged botanicals from which they will create their own custom blend of alcohol extractions and sugar syrups to take home. There will be an emphasis on edible invasive plant use and management, and concoctions containing these are eligible and encouraged to enter the Invasive Species Cook-off in September. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to support the Institute for Applied Ecology and our mission to conserve native species and habitats.
