Volunteer with IAE’s Plant Materials Program! Activities vary in intensity and may include planting plugs of Pacific Northwest native forb and grass species, excavating weeds in production beds, farm field preparation, cone plug thinning and more! See below for more event details.
Event Details
- When: April 8, between 9 am – 2 pm, tentative, weather dependent.
Where: OSU Botany and Plant Pathology shade house, 34016 NE Electric Rd. Corvallis, OR 97333. Meeting pin: 44°33’58.2″N 123°14’43.2″W. Park on the grass inside the fenced area on either side of the driveway.
What: Thinning plug cones for optimal plant growth for outplanting at restoration sites. Work will include meticulous hand work, tool handling, standing, bending, and lifting less than 30 pounds.
Bring: Water, lunch, sun protection, and comfortable shoes. IAE will have work gloves, but some folks like to bring their own. We will have any necessary tools.
All volunteers (or parent/guardian if the volunteer is a youth) must fill out IAE’s volunteer release form. RSVPs and any questions about the event can be directed to Evan Lasley (evanlasley@appliedeco.org).
