Ecologist, Southwest Program
[email protected]

Dan is an ecologist with IAE’s Southwest Branch. His primary focus is managing a multi-year monitoring program of rare plants species throughout New Mexico. He is most excited about collecting field data and using the results to inform conservation practices, especially from a spatial ecology perspective. After receiving his BA in Biology from the University of Chicago in 2016, he held a variety of technician, research assistant, and lab manager positions throughout the country. In 2022 he received an MS from the University of New Mexico, where his research topics included plant/insect parasitic interactions and communities of soil microbes. To Dan, few things are more important than conserving biodiversity and preserving natural landscapes. Outside of work, he enjoys trivia, writing/reading fiction, mixed martial arts (MMA), and going on hikes.
