Betsy Glenn

Northwest Habitat Restoration Program Director

I joined IAE in July 2026. Our department conducts restoration work to support and recover native northwest species and ecosystems, working with private landowners and state, Tribal, and federal agencies across the region. Prior to joining IAE, I was the research coordinator for the Northwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (USGS) (2016-2025) and worked as the Northern Spotted Owl Specialist for the US Fish and Wildlife Service (2010-2016). I have also worked as a wildlife  biologist for Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources where I conducted wetland and grassland restoration. I have a background in population ecology with an emphasis on the conservation and management of threatened and endangered species. I have been a member of The Wildlife Society (TWS) and the Oregon Chapter of TWS for over 25 years, serving as
President of the Oregon Chapter, Vice President of the Northwest Section, and as an associate editor for the Wildlife Society Bulletin. In my free time, I enjoy running, hiking with my dogs, and being outdoors.
