Ari Pepper
Restoration Ecologist
Ari is a passionate ecologist and avid botanist. Ari grew up in Minnesota, but moved out to Arizona in 2014 and has been living and working across the Western US ever since. He has worked on chainsaw crews, various trail crews, and monitoring crews and has worked in research labs, herbariums, greenhouses and non-profits. He received a degree in Conservation & Restoration Ecology from Utah State University and for the last three years has been building a plant materials and native seed program in central Idaho.
New to New Mexico but not the Southwest, Ari is looking forward to the new experiences, challenges and lessons working as a Restoration Ecologist will bring and is excited to join IAE’s Southwest team. Ari has a passion for all things outdoors and restoring or degraded landscapes. He now lives in Santa Fe with his partner, Kenia, and cat, Greta. In his personal time he enjoys reading, hiking, climbing, kayaking, botanizing and exploring wherever skies are blue and cell service is limited.
