This Earth Month, we are excited to be a member of the Earth Day Oregon campaign. As a member, we join together with other nonprofits, businesses, and community members statewide to create a groundswell of support for the local organizations leading us to a sustainable future. Together, we can take meaningful action to create a brighter future, not just for Oregonians, but for native pollinators, plants, animals—and the habitats that we all depend upon to thrive.
Curious how you can can support IAE—and the work of other environmental nonprofits in the Willamette Valley and beyond? We’ve put together a list of ways you can get involved, and stay involved—with links to other organizations and opportunities to build community support for conservation and environmental causes in the days, weeks, and months to come.
1. Donate
This Earth Month, we encourage you to make a commitment to improving and restoring the land for future generations through supporting our work. JOIN US in building a stronger and more effective conservation movement through your charitable donation today. Your donation goes towards:
- Restoring habitat and populations of threatened and endangered plants endemic to Oregon, to improve their chances of recovery.
- Researching methods for restoring sagebrush habitat for the Greater Sage Grouse in the arid West.
- Collaborating with Pueblo of Pojoaque to develop and implement the Forest Bound youth and elder engagement program in New Mexico.
- Producing genetically diverse native seeds to create habitat resilient to climate change across the Pacific Northwest and the Southwest.
2. Volunteer
This Earth Day, IAE staff and volunteers will be out in the field with members of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde to help restore prairie habitat for First Foods. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to [email protected] for more details!

3. Get Connected, Build Community
From 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Earth Day the Institute for Applied Ecology, the Chintimini Wildlife Center, Seeds for the Sol, and the Corvallis Environmental Center will gather for the Earth Day After Work Party at Common Fields. Relax and mingle with other Earth Day Enthusiasts after your volunteer activities, and join us for a fun night of Earth Day celebrations!
