Annie Lamas is an Ecological Education Coordinator with IAE, assisting with various aspects of the Sagebrush in Prisons Project. Her position aims to bring science and nature education opportunities to adults in custody (AIC) as well as to incarcerated youth. Her background is largely in habitat restoration, which began at an experimental forest in the western Sierras of California, transitioned to prescribed burning and invasive species management in the San Luis Obispo Coast District with California State Parks, and took her to Oregon as a seasonal technician with IAE surveying prairie-oak ecosystems throughout the Willamette Valley. Annie developed an interest in nature after taking an environmental science class in high school. After graduating, she moved to the Central Coast and went to California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where she earned a B.S. in Environmental Management and Protection. 

Since moving to Oregon, Annie and her partner Seth enjoy birding, camping, finding incredible deals on used furniture at thrift stores, hiking to new places in and outside of town, and lounging at home reading and spending time with their cat.
