Shawn Stone is a passionate, energetic restoration scientist tasked with coordinating the Southwest Seed Partnership. He has worked on a variety of habitat restoration projects in Arizona to re-establish critical habitat for threatened, endangered, and sensitive species. Being intimately familiar with building collaborative efforts among both public and private partners across the state, tribal, and agency jurisdictional boundaries, he is excited to work across the large, diverse landscapes of the American Southwest. Imported from Ohio, Shawn has spent the last six years studying plant communities in Arizona, ranging from the Arizona Strip to the Mogollon Rim to the grasslands of the Sonoran desert. As an active member of the Society for Ecological Restoration (southwest chapter) and the Cross Watershed Network, he hopes to use his network and drive to continue linking scientists, practitioners, and the public to promote continued conservation and rehabilitation of the southwestern landscapes he holds so dear.
