UPDATE: Due to the pandemic, large gatherings are prohibited at least until September 2020. The Cook-off as it was will be canceled this year, but stay tuned for a virtual invasive species Cook-off challenge!
It’s the Annual Invasive Species Cook-off Fundraiser!
You’ve heard of invasive species – when plants and animals are introduced to areas without their natural enemies, they can crowd out our native species. The US spends over $120 billion annually on their control. We raise awareness of these species in a deliciously fun way that features invasive species.
When: Saturday 5-8 pm, August 15,2020
Where: Tyee Wine Cellars, just 10 miles south of Corvallis
What: Invasive Species Cook-off and beverage Contest featuring invasive plants, catered buffet dinner featuring invasive plants, live bluegrass music from Rusty Hinges, and kid activities including lawn games, face painting and piñata! As long as you are not a professional chef or brewer, enter the Cook-off contest – you could win a prize! More details to come.
