Taylor is the Plant Materials Technician at IAE’s Santa Fe Office. Taylors primary role is the cleaning and processing of seed from native plant seed collections made across the southwest. Taylor also assists in the development of seed cleaning protocols, the management of the Santa Fe office herbarium, and helps the southwest staff with various seed collection and restoration efforts. Taylor earned a BS in Environmental Science and Management from Humboldt State University in 2017. He has since pursued restoration-oriented fieldwork in the Pacific Northwest, Rocky Mountains, and the Southwest. Taylor was brought to Santa Fe in June of 2020 by a seasonal position with Conservation Corps New Mexico in partnership with the BLM, leading a crew focused on seed collection from native plants across the state. He enjoys seeing wild seeds he collected over the summer make their way through each step of their seed journey, ultimately finding their way back to the land.
