Practical Guidelines for Wetland Prairie Restoration

One-Day Workshops Offered in Eugene on May 29 and 30, 2014

The City of Eugene, Oregon and the Institute for Applied Ecology will image_mini (3)be hosting two single-day workshops on the topic of wetland prairie restoration, featuring a tour of the 240-acre Coyote Prairie restoration project. The workshops will include an overview of the wetland prairie restoration process (site preparation, establishment, and management), with a discussion of lessons learned on local projects and results of related field experiments. The format will allow participants to share restoration experiences and encourage dialog. An optional “equipment rodeo” will be held before and after the workshop where equipment used for restoration and management will be on display.

When: Thursday, May 29 and Friday, May 30, 2014 (this single-day workshop is offered on two different dates). The workshop will run from 9:30 to 4:00 with optional equipment rodeo from 8:30 to 9:30 and 4:00 to 4:30.

Where: We will meet at Eugene Parks and Open Space office at 1820 Roosevelt Boulevard, with a guided field tour of Coyote Prairie.

Cost: There is no cost for this training.

Registration: Registration will open at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, March 3. We are limited to 45 participants per day on a first come, first serve basis. Please limit multiple registrations from a single organization. To register, go to www.eugene-or.gov/wetlands beginning at 8:30 a.m. on March 3.
