Restoration plantings at Horse Rock Ridge

Come help the Conservation Research crew at Horse Rock Ridge ACEC (Area of Critical Environmental Concern)!

We are looking for volunteers to help us carry flats of native plants up a forested trail. The trail is ~ 1mile round trip and we plan to make 1-3 trips. The plants were grown from seed collected on site and are being used in restoration efforts at Horse Rock Ridge.

Meet at 9:00 in the IAE parking lot on Wednesday the 12th. We will provide transportation to the site and gloves. Bring a sack lunch, plenty of water and come prepared for any type of Oregon weather.   Horse Rock Ridge is located east of Eugene, Oregon.

Overheard

"Volunteers are the backbone, heart, and soul of the restoration movement. And whatever the eventual results of their labors may be, working to revive damaged ecosystems is transforming and strengthening their relationship with the rest of nature."
