Oliver Grah

Oliver GrahOliver Grah is IAE's Habitat Restoration Program Director. Oliver holds a Bachelors degree in botany (1977, CA State Chico), a minor degree in geology (CA State Chico), and an MS in watershed science (1983, Utah State University), and substantial post-graduate course work in disturbed land reclamation. 

 Prior to his appointment to Director of the Habitat Restoration Program at IAE, Oliver served as the Natural Resources Division Manager for Whatcom County, Washington.  Oliver was an environmental consultant for over 27 years in the areas of habitat restoration, watershed, soils, surface water hydrology, vegetation, wetlands, forestry, range management, and wildlife habitat.  Over the last 23 years, he has specialized in wetlands science and is a certified professional wetlands scientist (SWS #000556). Oliver has conducted over 600 projects involving wetland delineations, wetlands mitigation and native habitat restoration plans, and has monitored the implementation of many such plans for attainment of performance standards. These plans have included large reservoir projects in mountainous Wyoming and Colorado where he assessed project impacts, developed compensatory mitigation plans involving habitat and hydrologic restoration, and conducted the monitoring of mitigation progress for ten years after plan implementation.  He has also prepared numerous reclamation plans including erosion and sediment control.  His geographic scope of work includes Washington, Oregon, California, Alaska, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nebraska, New Hampshire, and Ohio. He has worked in numerous community types ranging from the Sonoran Desert, to coastal shorelines, and to alpine tundra.
