Corinne M. Duncan

Corinne received both her B.S. in Environmental Science (2006) and her M.S. in Rangeland Ecology and Management (2008) from Oregon State University. Her graduate thesis examined the relationship between soil seed banks and western juniper (Juniperus occidentalis) expansion in Oregon’s High Desert. Botany, restoration and native plant ecology are Corinne’s primary professional interests. Her work at IAE is divided between the departments of Conservation Research and Habitat Restoration where she carries out special projects and is assistant project coordinator for the Nelson’s checkermallow (Sidalcea nelsoniana) Recovery Project. While not at IAE, Corinne teaches enameled jewelry workshops, goes on adventures with her husband, and entertains her two kittens.

Overheard

"Volunteers are the backbone, heart, and soul of the restoration movement. And whatever the eventual results of their labors may be, working to revive damaged ecosystems is transforming and strengthening their relationship with the rest of nature."

-William K. Stevens, Miracle Under the Oaks
