University of Vermont with a B.S. in Biology. She also spent a year studying Marine Science at the University of Hawaii at Hilo where she frolicked in the ocean with brittle stars and parrot fish. Before joining IAE, Carly worked in the summer as a field assistant, catching queen harvester ants in Arizona and collecting data for research on the correlation between abiotic factors and harvester ant colony success. At IAE she is working with the RARE Partnership and is excited about working with youth, expanding her botanical knowledge, and exploring Oregon.

Overheard

"Volunteers are the backbone, heart, and soul of the restoration movement. And whatever the eventual results of their labors may be, working to revive damaged ecosystems is transforming and strengthening their relationship with the rest of nature."

-William K. Stevens, Miracle Under the Oaks
